NAEYC Teachers Standard Professional Development Summary
Within the NAEYC Standard of Teachers, the topic area of Preparation, Knowledge and Skills of Teaching Staff (6.A) includes several criteria that detail the professional preparation requirements for teaching staff. This document summarizes the professional development related criteria for programs seeking NAEYC Accreditation. Meeting Connecticut's School Readiness Requirement for Accreditation by NAEYC
A program receiving Connecticut School Readiness funding is allowed three years from the date funding is received to meet the state's accreditation requirements. This document offers guidance to non-accredited School Readiness funded programs on how to meet the NAEYC Accreditation requirement within the three year time period.
