Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS)

The Connecticut Charts-A-Course Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS) is a system of comprehensive assessment and support for its approved trainers. As such, the QAIS is designed to:

1. Document the credibility and reliability of the delivery of Connecticut Charts-A-Course’s credit-free curriculum in the Core Areas of Knowledge by approved trainers.
2. Influence a highly specialized training experience for participants.
3. Provide an ongoing professional development experience for Connecticut Charts-A-Course approved trainers.
4. Act as a stimulus for Connecticut Charts-A-Course professional development for trainers.

Connecticut Charts-A-Course intends to document excellence in training delivery through the Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS).

The purposes of the Connecticut Charts-A-Course Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS) are to ensure:

1. Trainers adhere to all aspects of current Training Approval Board (TAB) Policies and Procedures and revisions as released.
2. The integrity of Connecticut Charts-A-Course’s credit-free curriculum in the Core Areas of Knowledge is preserved by making sure all Connecticut Charts-A-Course approved curriculum components are met, leading to consistency of curriculum content delivery statewide.
3. Trainer delivery takes into account the unique characteristics of the adult learner.
4. Trainers are knowledgeable about effective teaching practices.
5. Training participants are receiving high quality early childhood education credit-free trainings from high quality Connecticut Charts-A-Course approved trainers.
6. A trainer evaluation process is maintained that identifies areas of strength, recognizes and acknowledges superior performance, identifies areas that need improvement and defines trainer technical assistance options as necessary.
