Scholarship Assistance Program 2009-2011 Eligibility Requirements

CCAC SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANT PROGRAM PRIORITES as of July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011

For the purpose of the following -"staff" is any person permanently employed by any of the following child care center/programs as those adults with primary responsibility for a group of children or any such person who works directly under the direct supervision of such staff.

Priority 1:
Staff who are currently employed in DSS Funded-contract centers and need to meet the staff qualifications of:

  1. a CDA with twelve early childhood education or child development credits as determined by CCAC, or
  2. a One-year Certificate in early childhood education with twelve credits in early childhood education or child development, or
  3. an Associate's Degree with twelve credits in early childhood education or child development, or
  4. a Baccalaureate Degree with twelve credits in early childhood education or,
  5. a post-Baccalaureate Degree with twelve credits in early childhood education or child development, or
  6. a teaching certificate from the State Department of Education (SDE) with an endorsement in early childhood education or special education.

Priority 2:
Staff that work in a CCAC Accreditation Facilitation Project (AFP) "selected site" and need to meet the above qualifications and/or other qualifications for National Association for the Education of the Young Children (NAEYC) program accreditation.

Priority 3:
Staff that work in School Readiness programs that are not included in priority #2 above but whose programs are NAEYC accredited.

Priority 4:
Staff that work in other public/private funded programs (serving infant, toddlers, preschool and school-age children) that are licensed by the Department of Public Health.
